A Birthday Butterfly

Combining three different card challenges, I came up with this bright and colourful card!

Butterfly Card

This card is made up of a Whisper White cardstock base. The background behind the butterfly is made up of using Sponge Daubers on my masked out circles (used 1-1/2″ Circle Punch, 1″ Circle Punch and 1/2″ Circle Punch) with the colours: Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo and Lemon Lime Twist. The butterfly is made using the Butterfly Thinlits on Basic Black cardstock and Rhinestones placed on its body. The sentiment “Happy Birthday” is from the Number of Years stamp set. The line pattern to go around the corner at the bottom is made using a ruler and the thin end of the Basic Black marker.

A Little Wild, Happy Birthday Gorgeous

A Little Wild Celebration

Good evening!

This evening’s card uses one of the cutest stamp sets in the annual catalog, it is called “A Little Wild”! The stamp set consists of a lion, bear, elephant, bees, beehive, grass and flower along with a couple sayings: “To: From” (which is for the gift tags that can be made using the matching framelits dies), “Wild About You!”, “Hello There, Honey Bear!” and “A Great Big Welcome for a Sweet Little Someone”.

Here is the card I made using this stamp set:

A Little Wild (1)

This card has been put on an Early Espresso base. On top of the base, I layered with a piece of Whisper White which I dab a little Crushed Curry ink on using an Aqua Painter. On top of the Whisper White, I made a patterned Crushed Curry background banner which I made using the Diagonal Stripe background stamp. I stamped twice, just rotated the stamp 90 degrees between stamping. Both banners were made using the Banner Triple Punch. These banners were then adhered to the Whisper White paper using SNAIL Adhesive.

For the ribbon embellishment, I used Crushed Curry Solid Baker’s Twine and wrapped it around the Whisper White cardstock with the banners adhered and made a bow. Then, I adhered this to the Early Espresso base using SNAIL Adhesive.

For the little lion, I stamped it on Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Pad then coloured the lion in using Crushed Curry Marker, Rose Red and Early Espresso Markers. The lion was then cut out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits and adhered to the card using Dimensionals.

For the sentiment, I used the label stamp from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set and stamped it in Early Espresso on Whisper White Cardstock. Then, I stamped the “celebrate” sentiment inside it using Crushed Curry. This was then punched out using the Classic Label Punch and adhered to the card using Dimensionals.

That’s it! Enjoy make your sweet little lion card!
